Meet Chris

Made by someone who's been on your stage

CJT Video Productions is run by Christopher J. Thume, a Los Angeles actor who has performed in musicals and plays across the area. He's been through the auditions, the long rehearsals, the tech weeks and the quick changes. He knows how a company works backstage, how to film without getting in the way, and what makes a show worth leaving the house for.

Now he puts that experience to work behind the camera, cutting short-form video and running social media for LA theaters, so your audience sees the moments that make your production special.

Why short-form video

The best seat in the house is now a phone screen

Live theater is hard to explain in a poster. A 20-second clip of a showstopper, a quick-change or a cast member's nerves before opening night shows people exactly why they need to be there in person.

  1. Reach new audiencesShort-form platforms recommend videos to people who don't follow you yet. That's a way to reach first-time theatergoers.
  2. Show, don't tellMovement, music and emotion come through on video in a way a still image or a synopsis can't.
  3. Build buzz around every runA steady drip of content from first rehearsal to closing night keeps your show in people's feeds.
  4. Give your cast a megaphoneShareable clips are easy for performers and crew to repost to their own followers.

FAQ

Questions from the wings

Do you work with small and community theaters?

Yes. Whether you're a 40-seat black box, a community playhouse or a larger performing arts venue, we'll shape a plan that fits your size and budget.

Do you film, or do we provide the footage?

Either works. Many theaters already have phone footage from rehearsals and performances, and we can turn that into finished videos. We can also share simple shooting tips for your team, or arrange on-site filming.

What about rights, unions and recording rules?

Recording policies vary by show, licensing agreement and union contract. We'll follow your theater's guidelines and plan content around what you're allowed to capture and share, such as rehearsals, backstage moments, interviews and approved excerpts.

Which platforms do you cover?

TikTok, Instagram (Reels and Stories), YouTube Shorts and Facebook. Each video can be delivered in the right format for each platform.

Do we approve videos before they're posted?

Always. You'll review every edit, and nothing goes live on your accounts without your sign-off.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is custom, based on how many videos you need, whether filming is included and whether you want ongoing social media management. Send us a note and we'll put together a quote.

Are you based in Los Angeles?

Yes. CJT Video Productions is based in LA and works with theaters across the Los Angeles area.
